Maribel Macalintal is an artist specializing in the creative, cutesy, and oh so cartoony. From a young age, she would replicate works of animation as sources of inspiration. This ranged from films made by Walt Disney Animation Studios and Studio Ghibli to series featured on Cartoon Network and Toonami.  She also often referenced the numerous art books she rented out of mobile libraries that visited her elementary school. Piqued by the detailed character designs and vibrant color palettes, Maribel would channel such features into her pieces and develop her style over time.

Her artwork primarily focuses on illustrations using traditional media to create fan art with an anime-inspired aesthetic. She enjoys incorporating thoughtful references in her work. While she has experimented with various art media, her personal favorite supplies include colored pencils and watercolor.
